O.J. married Ethel Chloe McElhaney 19 Jan. 1896 In Washington Co. Arkansas. In about 1910, they moved to Muskogee, where O.J. had a general store about 2 miles south of Muskogee. In this early statehood time, many of his customers would come in and leave their guns with him at the store before they went into town, and would pick them up as they came back by. He was in the grocery business throughout his life, passing this love of the business to several of his children, most especially Connie. He was the son of Joseph b. 13 March 1830 in St. Augustine/ Galesburg, Ill, d. 14 July, 1880 in Jasper Co., Mo., and Samantha Babbitt Ogden b. 19 Feb. 1839 in Scott Co., Ind. and d. 12 Dec. 1922 in Benton Co. Ark.
