Kathy passed from this life to her next, just as the sun rose on July 26, 2011.
Kathy was a native of Reno and graduated from Earl Wooster High School in 1974. She attended UNR and earned an associate degree in photography.
Kathy proudly served her country and retired from the Nevada Air National Guard after 22 years of service. She was employed by JC Penney logistic center in Stead, Nevada for 23 years.
Her passions included her family, her love for baseball, bowling and snorkeling, and her cat "Baby". She was elected by her community as Emperor XX of the Silver Dollar Court and during her tenure she was instrumental in raising charitable funds for the Nevada Aids Foundation and the Nevada Humane Society.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marie Miles; sister, Diane Miles; and her identical twin sister, Karen Miles.
Kathy is survived by her life partner of 27 years, Cherie Kimsey; children, Jesse and Jen Kimsey and Jonah and Rebecca Kimsey; grandchildren, Landen Michael, Logan Maree and Miranda Lee; brothers, Mike Miles Gary Bale, and Patrick Harris; sisters, Lynda Miles and Beverly Harris; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and Kathy's special friends and Mentors, Steven Daugherty and Michael Mclean.
Services for Kathy will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stoker Avenue, Reno, Nevada.
A Celebration of Kathy's life will immediately follow at Bertha Miranda's Restaurant Patio, 335 Mill Street, Reno.
