Mr. Charles Black 82, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Visitation is 5:30pm-7:00pm today and after 9am Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home, chapel services are 10am Friday with interment to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Black, a Korean War Veteran, was a longtime resident of the Jackson/Raymond area. He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and former member of West Jackson Baptist Church.

Mr. Black and his brother Willis Black were owners of Black's Grocery for over 35 years. He was known for his kind, unselfish nature. Through the years at Black's Grocery he became a friend to many. His love for the Lord was evident by the life he led, always generously helping others in their time of need..

Mr. Black was preceded in death by several siblings, Dan, Jay, Leroy, and Bill Black, Elizabeth Hodges, Pauline Gamble, and Mae Nix.

He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Yvonne Feathers Black, his son Charles David Black of Raymond, a daughter Kathy Black Maze (Gary) of Madison, one sister, Dorothy Graves of Puckett, and his precious grandchildren, Josh Maze (Stacie), Karleigh Maze, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends
