Son of Frank Nicholas Gast Sr and Theresa Christmann, Frank married Josephine Angela Kroeger in July 1908. In their 65th year of marriage, Josephine pre-deceased him by 6 months, dying Feb 24, 1973. The couple raised 3 daughters and several foster children. He was an avid gardener whose back yard was filled with vegetables, fruit trees, a grape arbor and many roses.
