HANCOCK - Orintha L. Mills, 86, of West Main Street, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Home near Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Born June 18, 1914, in Amaranth, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Annie Mann Ray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillard W. Mills, in 1967. She was a homemaker. She had worked for Hepburn Orchards and other local orchards. She was a member of Orchard Ridge First Church of God, where she was a member of Ladies Aid. She is survived by three daughters, Virginia Shoemaker and Mildred Blankley, both of Hancock, and Pauline Robins of Frederick, Md.; a son, David W. Mills Sr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Mae Hull and Goldie Barnhart, both of Hancock; a brother, Ernest Ray of Little Orleans, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Esther Marie Mills; three sisters, Elizabeth Deneen, Nellie Ash and Isabelle Bishop; and three brothers, Theodore Ray, Chester Ray and Charlie Ray. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Orchard Ridge First Church of God, Orchard Ridge Road in Hancock. The Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Bridge Brethren Cemetery, Hollow Road in Hancock. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St. in Hancock; and Monday at 1 p.m. at the church. The funeral home will open Sunday at 2 p.m. for the convenience of friends. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
