While Luther's tombstone indicates he was born March 6, 1878, that is inaccurate. He also used the date of March 6, 1877, which is also incorrect. His actual birth date was November 11, 1881, which was obtained from his father's Civil War pension file and his World War I draft registration form. Luther DOES NOT appear in the 1880 census with his parents and siblings, further proof he was born after 1880. EXACT BIRTH LOCATION OF FLORA (Clay County) ILLINOIS OBTAINED FROM HIS DAUGHTER, BEULAH'S, CHICAGO, COOK COUNTY BIRTH RECORD.

Another inaccuracy in records is his birth location. A few records have indicated Buffalo, Kentucky (miltiary records), other records indicate he was born in Illinois. There is no evidence the family ever lived in Kentucky.

Luther apparently wanted to appear older than what he was, so used his brother's, William Julius Cazadd's birth date on many documents which was March 6, 1877; that may be why he used a birth location of Buffalo, Kentucky so the record would vary from his brother (?).
