Thomas E. Fischer, 64, Shelbyville, died at 7:41 p.m. Monday, March 22, 1999, at W.S. Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
Born July 17, 1934, in Shelby County, he was the son of Charles N. and Dorothy (Roell) Fischer, and his mother survives in Shelbyville. He married Shirley Hey on Oct. 23, 1954, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 23, 1989. He married Bess Headlee on Dec. 2, 1989, and she survives.
He was a farmer. He lived his entire life in Shelby County. He was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus in Shelbyville, the Shelby R/C Modelers, the National Rifle Association, Varmets Club, and was a charter member of the Bears of Blue River Camping Club.
In addition to his wife and mother; he is survived by three daughters, Melinda Hammitte of Greenfield, Karen Harter of St. Paul, and Lesa Brinson of Shelbyville; two stepsons, Mark Headlee of Greenfield and Matt Headlee of Fortville; one stepdaughter, Shari Enger of Fargo, N.D.; one sister, Libby Long of Shelbyville; three brothers, Nick Fischer and Mark Fischer, both of Shelbyville, and Jim Fischer of Waldron; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Landwerlen officiating.
Burial will be at St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.,. Thursday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
