Mr. High was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on March 7, 1942, the son of the late Charlie Bryant and Sue Ellen (Riddle) High who survives him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa Gant and Chris Persons; two sons, Shannon High and Johnny High; one brother, Sam High; one sister, Louise Cummings; one step-grandson, Donnie Tolliver; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Tony High and Dewayne Strange.
He was the widower of Elsie (Strange) High, retired from Metromont Materials (Cemex) and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Spartanburg.
Graveside services were held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, South Carolina, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 6, with Rev. Monty King officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, South Carolina.
