Robert Rives Vaughan was the 2nd child born to Robert Emmett and Hettie Belle RIVES Vaughan in Ettrick, Chesterfield County, Va. where he lived his enire life. He was a loving husband to Mary HALLOWAY Vaughan and father to Shirley Rives, Mary Rebekkah and Robert Eugene "Gene" Vaughan. He was brother to three full siblings: Virginia Vandelia, Hettie Catherine, Mary Elizabeth and when his mother died young at 39 his father later married Lelia Bowman and a set of twins were born to that union, Dorothy Maxine "Teedy" and Emmett Carlton "Bubby" Vaughan. They were all a close and loving family. He was a faithful, lifelong member of Ettrick United Methodist Church where he and his wife served as Communion Stewards for over 25 years and he was a joyful member of the Chancel Choir as long as he lived. He was a salesman for the Harlow-Hardy Furniture Company in Petersburg, VA. where he enjoyed greeting his return customers until retirement. He dearly loved his family and wide circle of friends and always had a smile for everyone. He is buried in the Vaughan Family Plot in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA.
