Alta Mae McNail

Alta Mae McNail daughter of the late Mary Jane Lundry Hampton and Turner Hampton was born at Ruble, Missouri, on March 24, 1923. She departed this life at Elsberry Healthcare Center in Elsberry, Missouri, on September 4, 2008, having attained the age of 85 years, five months and 11 days.
Alta was a member of the Ellington First Baptist Church and her hobbies included sewing, quilting and embroidery. Alta also enjoyed painting, reading, yard work and watching television.
Alta was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Neeley Hampton and David Hampton, and two sisters, Wanda Cowin and Leotta Collyott.
Alta is survived by one son, Benjamin McNail of Elsberry, three daughters, Martha Hurley and husband Vernon of St. Peters, Betty McNail of St. Louis, and Mary Mecalo of Elsberry, two brothers, Lloyd Bunch Hampton of Ellington, Henry Hampton of Piedmont, two sisters, Murrill Buxton of Overland, Elnora Wedig of Piedmont, eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Heather, B.J., Joseph, Caleb, Griffin, Deborah and Ray, and 12 great-grandchildren. Alta will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn her passing.
