Relatives and friends were sorry to learn of the death of Mrs. William Graves, which occurred Thursday morning, Oct. 16, at Deaconess hospital, Freeport. Her illness was short and she had been a patient there only since Sunday.
Minnie Adaline Pulfrey was born in Rush Township, Jo Daviess county, on August 20, 1879. Her parents were John and Mary Ellen Torry Pulfrey.
On, March 6, 1901, she was married to Oran Drane. He died in September of 1944 She later married William Graves and he preceded her in 1957.
Mrs. Graves was well known in this area and many will miss her friendly presence.
She is survived by on daughter, Mrs. Allen (Dorothy) Coomber of Waddams Grove; two sons, Lyle and Earle Drane, and one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Mae) Drane, all of Stockton; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Ira (Alma) Mapes and Mrs. Fred (Agnes) Renwick, died previously.
Last rites were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Calvary Evangelical United Brethren church. The Rev. C. A. Goss officiated. Richard Townsend sang "In the Garden" and "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind," Mrs. Downsend accompanying. Interment was in the Townsend cemetery. Casket bearers included James Glanville, C. J. Simmons, Geo. S. Hermann, Frank Graves, J. A. Sheetz and Clarence Graves.
