Ernest W. Cox, 45, died unexpectedly at his home, 698 Adams Ave., Sunday [April 4, 1954] of a heart attack. No. 3 inhalator squad administered oxygen in an attempt to revive him.

A resident of Chillicothe most of his life, he was born May 22, 1908, a son of Granville M. and Eloda Maxson Cox.

On Dec. 14, 1929, he married Gladys McCartney, who survives.

Mr. Cox was a member of the Eagles Lodge and was an excavating contractor for 22 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Carlene, Ada, and Sondra; seven sons, Ernest W. Jr., Granville, Robert, Lawrence, Roger, Jackie, and Steven; three sisters, Mrs. Marion Allen, Mrs. William Allen, and Mrs. Orvil Moody; three brothers, Darrel Cox, Ralph Cox, and John Cox; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church of the Nazarene, Monroe Ave., with the Rev. Dwight M. Bruce officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
