Marinell, known to friends as "Teenie" was proud to be born on 4th of July, 1919, in Chicago, Ill. She was one of nine children born to Alfred Edward Hodgkiss and Emily May (Carr) Hodgkiss. The Hodgkiss family moved to Tarzana, Calif., in 1936 where Teenie met and married Charles Harvey (C.H.) Wheeler on Aug. 23, 1940. Shortly after their marriage, the Wheelers moved to West Hollywood, Calif., where Charles Jr. (Chuck) and Leonard were born. Teenie assisted in a multitude of ways and the business enjoyed much success, doing construction projects for many well known Hollywood personalities. Eventually, all five sons and one daughter were involved. Teenie sang in the choir and served as a deaconess at West Hollywood Baptist Church, where C.H. was a deacon. In their later years, both were involved in the Gideons. Teenie loved Jesus and was bold in her witness. Every envelope she mailed, whether a check to the Gas Company or an invoice to a client, had her handwritten scripture reference on the back.
