John Andrew Todd was the son of John Hearon Todd & Edna Viola Lingenfelter Todd. He was the grandson of James George Todd & Barbara Ann Roxby Todd and Andrew Harrison Lingenfelter & Margaret Sarah Hoch Todd. His siblings were: Robert Odell Todd, Sarah Ellen Todd Blose, Paul Bernard Todd, Janet Adelaine Todd Mahan, Blaine Earl Todd, Louise Hearon Todd Benson, and Vira Todd Bines.

John "Andy" Todd, 90, passed from this life Sunday, July 24, 2011.
He was born Jan. 22, 1921, in [Perry Twp] Jefferson County, a son of the late John H. and Edna Lingenfelter Todd.
Mr. Todd served in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and served in various stateside locations and on the island of Tinian until December 1945.
While in Great Bend, Kan., Mr. Todd met Arlene Notestine. After the war, he returned to Burdett, Kan., and they wed Jan. 25, 1946. She preceded him in death.
He worked at Shank Brothers in Burdett for more than 40 years. He was also an active member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Mr. Todd was well-known as an avid bike rider, riding at least 10 miles in all 50 states and several thousand miles across Kansas and Missouri. Even at the age of 89, his goal was to average 100 miles a month.
He was gifted with a fine memory and loved to tell stories of his childhood and wartime. His family called him the "Todd family historian."
He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Surviving relatives include two sons, John R. Todd and wife Mary of Neosho, Mo., and Michael L. Todd and wife Earlene in Wichita, Kan.; two grandchildren, Melissa Todd of Springfield, Mo., and Paul Todd; three sisters, Janet Mahan of Warren, Louise Benson and husband Carl of Punxsutawney, and Vira Bines and husband Richard of Leeper; and a sister-in-law, Caroline Todd of Salem, N.J.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Robert and Blaine; and a sister, Ellen.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

John Andrew Todd was known as John to his KS & MO family and friends and as Andy to his PA family and friends. Andy was the son of John Hearon and Edna Viola Lingenfelter Todd; and the grandson of James George and Barbara Ann Roxby and Andrew Harrison and Margaret Sarah Hoch Lingenfelter.

He was reunited today - July 24, 2011 - with his beloved wife, Arlene LaVonne Notestine Todd. She was the daughter of Robert Alonzo and Ruby Belle Michael Notestine. They were married January 25-1946 in Burdett, Kansas where they spent the majority of their married life.

John Andrew Todd was remembered at a memorial service in Burdett KS, Sunday August 14-2011. Part of his ashes were placed on his wife's grave in Larned Cemetery. Some were placed on his KS farm. Some will be placed at his favorite hill on his boyhood family farm on Lightning Rod Hollow Road in Oliver Twp, Jefferson Co, PA. A memorial service will be held Labor Day at Barton Chapel the church he attended with his family while growing up in PA.
