Wednesday, May 23, 2007 Ernestine "Tina" Castro, ended her life journey on May 21, 2007 at the age of 93.
She was born on May 20, 1914 in New Mexico and a lifelong resident of Walsenburg, Colo. until her illness.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Castro; parents, three brothers and one sister. She leaves so many precious memories for her children and grandchildren to cherish.
She is survived by her children, Gloria (Abel) Trujillo, Don (Belinda) Castro, Marie Castro, Jack (Arlene) Castro, Carol (Glen) Wilkins; her sister, Mary (Gilbert) Romero; fifteen grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She loved her family and was happiest when she was with them. Gardening was her passion and we could always find her in her yard with her hands in the dirt or hoe in hand and a smile on her face. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and aunt and will be sadly missed.
To the staff on Station 3 of Life Care Center, your care and compassion will never be forgotten.
Services will be held on May 25, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Walsenburg, Colo., with burial to follow at North St. Mary Cemetery. Friends and family will be received at the Rambler Restaurant following the burial.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Boies-Ortega Funeral Home in Walsenburg, Colo.
