Mrs. Henry L. Purvis Died At Glennville After Long Illness

Mrs. Henry L. Purvis,82,died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alvin Anderson in Mendes, Sunday night after an extended illness.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. W.H. Jones of Manassas, Mrs. E.L. Kicklighter, Deland, Fla.; Mrs. Alvin Anderson and Miss Florrie Purvis, both of Mendes; one son, R.B. Purvis, Glennville; one brother, D.W. Bradley, Claxton; three sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Anderson and Mrs. Lula Cammack, both of Glennville and Miss Lala Bradley, Savannah; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by Elder J. Walter Hendricks, Elder A.R. Crumpton and Elder A.L. Brannen.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Hugh Doyt, Carl Bradley Benton Anderson, Curtis Cammack and Clyde Cammack.
