George Frantz, a resident of Tippecanoe county for sixty-nine years, living eleven miles south of Lafayette on U. S. 52, dropped dead of heart failure as he stood beside his car along the road a mile south of his home at noon Thanksgiving day. He had left his home to meet his son, Earl Frantz, at a road intersection a mile farther south, and became involved in a minor automobile accident directly in front of his residence. The car was able to proceed, however, and Frantz dropped dead as he awaited his son’s arrival. The two men had planned to do some work in the fields. Mr. Frantz was born in York county, Pennsylvania, October 6, 1858, son of Abraham and Barbara Frantz, coming to this county sixty-nine years ago. He had lived here almost continuously since that time. He was twice married, first to Miss Alameda Bowen and, following her death to Beulah Davis, in 1902; she survives. Besides the widow, he leaves two sons, John of Rural Route 5, and Earl, of, Rural Route 6; one step-daughter, Mrs Maude Reser, of Lafayette, a sister, Mrs. William Campbell, of Woodward, Ia. and eleven grandchildren. Mr. Frantz was a member of the Stockwell M. E. church. Funeral services, in charge of Rev. Walter Roudebush, were conducted from the residence Saturday afternoon; Salem cemetery.
