Mrs. Velma Deranger Lanclos, age 81, died Wednesday, September 28, 2005, in Opelousas. She was born in Arnaudville, LA, and had lived in Opelousas for over 60 years. Her family will always treasure memories of her loving kindness, and of time spent with her sharing laughter, good food, and family stories.

Mrs. Lanclos is survived by her sons Harold Lanclos and Calvin Lanclos, daughter-in-law Judy Lanclos, grandchildren Donna Michelle Lanclos and Kyle Lanclos, and great-grand children Lia Ogburn and Wiley Ogburn. Also surviving are her brothers Theophile Deranger, Moise Deranger, and Irvin Deranger, and sisters Evelyn Guilbeau, Fannie Morain, Betty Emon, Virgie Stelly, Shirley Deshotel, and Leola Doucet.

Velma Lanclos was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Herman Lanclos, her parents, Moise and Marie Bergeron Deranger, her brothers, Xavier Deranger, Joseph Valerie Deranger, and Joseph Percy Deranger, and her great-granddaughter Lily Rowan Ogburn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 9 A.M., at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church. Visitation will be 5-8 P.M., at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home. The rosary will be said at 6 P.M. Burial will be at Bellevue Memorial Park.
