Wendell Haslam Jones
Together Again

Wendell Haslam Jones, 95, passed away November 19, 2006 in West Valley City, Utah. Born May 30, 1911 in Hunter, Utah, one of ten children born to Robert Elijah and Mary Ann Haslam Jones. Married Sylvenia Pearl Delahunty September 17, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple; she preceded him in death.

He was an active member of the LDS Church. He served a mission to Australia from 1931-33 followed by many callings including Bishop of the Hunter 2nd Ward. Later served a mission with his wife, from 1981-83, to Nauvoo, Illinois. He loved his family very much. He retired from Kennecott after 40 years of service.

He enjoyed working hard, farming with his father and brothers most of his life. Dad had a great sense of humor and was a kind, generous, compassionate, loving and humble man.

Survived by children: MyrLene (Stan) Stevens, VaLora (Keith) Macmillan and James (Sally) Jones; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grand children; sisters: Afton Wellington and Cleone Bailey.

Preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the Centennial Park Ward, 3372 South Merry Lane (5275 W.). A viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to service. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
