Louise Dawson, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Golden Living Center Lincoln Hills.

She was born February 7, 1921 in Hancock County daughter of the late Retes and Mary Jane (Nichols) Young. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Marcia Kaye in infancy, sons, Estil Dawson Jr. and James Kent Greely, sister, Eloise King, brothers, James and Albert Young, granddaughter, Tina Michelle Simpson, and grandson, Randall Tindle and a great granddaughter, Cassandra Ivy Vogt.

A homemaker, Louise was a member of Tell City Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed genealogy, quilting, sewing, traveling to Florida and was a volunteer quilter for Boulware Center, formerly in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Louise is survived by seven daughters, Alice Tindle (Lester), Hawesville, Betty Cartwright, Hawesville, Billie Faye Schwartz (Jim), Tell City, Cheryl Wilson (Tim), Tobinsport, Carol Vogt (Bud), Cannelton, Brenda Simpson (Tom), Tell City and Jackie Moore (Steve), Salem, Oregon; three sisters, Ada Gray, Hawesville, Ida Stevens, Lexington and Robertine Derrick, Lexington; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in Serenity Hills Cemetery in Hawesville, Kentucky. Elder Charles Foote will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time Saturday.
