Mrs. Virginia Rose Murphy, age 82, Vine Grove, KY, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Murphy was born on April 24, 1929, in Buffalo, KY, the daughter of Henry and Sudie Thomas Murphy. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, post #1181 in Valley Station, KY. Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Woodcock and Judith Hibbs. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard Murphy, a brother, John R. Seymour, Elizabethtown, a sister, Jean Peterson, Louisville, KY, a son-in-law, Wilse Woodcock, Monticello, IN, five granddaughters, Devon, Wendy, Lisa, Jainie and Dawn, three great grandchildren, Danica, Josh and Drew and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, from the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. There will be no prior visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY.
