"Samuel was the son of Noah Bondurant and wife Martha "Patsy" Chastain. He married before 1849 to Martha M. Banta (b. 5 Sept. 1833, d. 27 Oct. 1899, bur. Dutch Tract Cem., Henry Co., KY). They had 2 daughters: Nancy Ann "Nannie" born 9 Sept. 1849 in Jefferson Co., IN, d. 9 May 1919 in Cropper, Shelby Co., KY, she married 1st Isaac Kelly (they had 3 children), 2nd George Walker Yount (her mother's step son by her 3rd husband; they had 7 children). Second daughter was Elizabeth E. "Eliza" born in 1851 in Jefferson Co., IN, nothing more has been learned of her. Both daughters are listed as Lewis children (mother's 2nd husband was Benjamin Parker Lewis) on the 1860 census along with mother, her 2nd husband and son by this 2nd marriage. Martha married 3rd George W. Yount (b. 19 Nov. 1815 in Shelby Co., KY, d. 29 Jun. 1893 in Henry Co., KY, his 2nd wife, m. 6 Jun. 1872 in Henry Co., KY). Martha had one more child by 3rd husband, Henderson Grafton Yount.
