Congressman. He was successful in agricultural pursuits, served in the Connecticut State House of Representatives, (1820, 24, 26, 29, 33-34), a member of the Connecticut State Senate, in 1830 and was a Captain in the Connecticut State Militia. In 1835, he was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-fourth Congress and reelected as a Democrat to the Twenty-fifth Congress, serving until 1839. After leaving Congress, he was a civil engineer for server years and lived in retirement until his death at age 84.
