her husband, Pvt. Abraham Childers,
Son Of
Henry Childers
and
Susannah (Goldsby) Childers,
while living in Amhurst Co., VA, joined the Continental Army in March 1777 and, on 4-24-2008, a military (Revolutinary War) tombstone was set at his grave-site by members of the the Colonel Ben Caudill Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans;

also, on the same day, Confederate tombstones were set for their son and two of their grand-sons;

their son, Goldsby (Goolsby) buried within 30 feet of his parents, was a private (at age 56) in Co. F. of the 5th KY Infantry; and

three of Goldsby's sons (Sgt. Abraham Childers, named for his grandfather; Corporal David Childers; and Corporal James Childers) joined Co. H. of the 10th KY Mounted Rifles (Caudill's Army, reorganized and renamed the 13th KY Cavalry in the Spring of 1865);

Abraham and James died during the War and are buried in this Cemetery beside their grandparents, Abraham and Elizabeth (Roberts) Childers;

It is felt that Corporal David Childers may be buried in Carter Co., KY, in the Gregoryville area west of Grayson, KY, possibly on Everman Creek./dl
