funeral set

Funeral services will be held Saturday for Benjamin E. Palmer, 83, 1124 S. Clinton St., who died Wednesday at the Monroe County Hospital here.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Geyer Lewis Funeral Home with Donald Plum, lay pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oak View Cemetery.

Mr. Palmer was born October 26, 1888 in Hiteman, the son of Richard and Flora Harvey Palmer. He was married Oct. 26, 1913 to Nola Whitmarsh. Mr. Palmer was a retired coal miner.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Jack and Richard of Albia, and a sister, Mrs. Tess Marshall of Glenwood, Minn.; two grand children and a great-grand child.

Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
