Mozelle Haire Montgomery Houston, 84, of Ozona went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 19, 2011 in San Angelo. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Johnson's Funeral Home. The Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Sherwood Cemetery with Rev. Carlos Cantu officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Mozelle was born May 29, 1927 in New Baden, Texas to James Odie Dodson Haire and Jessie Irene Marshall Haire. She grew up in Ozona, TX and attended Ozona Schools. She married Coy Montgomery in 1947 and they shared 6 years of marriage before he preceded her in death. Mozelle married Scottie Houston in 1954 and they shared 35 years together before he preceded her in death. She worked for many years at Westerman's Drug Store and she also worked many years at the Village Drug Store in Ozona, TX. Mozelle was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Ozona and a member of the Church Choir Corral. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Mozelle also enjoyed square dancing as well as sewing and arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Coy Montgomery and later her husband Scottie Houston, and one brother, Norris Haire. Mozelle is survived by her loving family, Sons, James Montgomery and his wife Sandy, of Ozona, TX, and her son Calvin Montgomery and his wife Jane, of Austin, TX; 4 Grandchildren, Jason Montgomery and his wife Michelle, of Carrollton, TX, Cassie Montgomery, of Ozona, Ky Montgomery, of Ozona, Jon Myles Montgomery, of Austin; numerous Great Grandchildren; her Brothers, Dorris Haire and his wife Georgia, of San Angelo, Cecil Haire and his wife Joyce, of San Angelo, and Adrian Haire and his wife Jo, of San Angelo; and Numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mozelle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who devoted her life to her family and she will remain forever in our hearts.
