James Leonard Hunt, 72, of Nampa, Idaho passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab of Midland in Nampa. Jim was born March 19, 1939. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1957 and married his wife, Louise Lora Hoxsie on January 10, 1958.

He served In the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1969 spending a year overseas during the Vietnam War. He was last stationed in Great Falls, MT where they built their home and finished their family. In 1984 they moved back to his home town, Nampa, ID, to be near their parents.

He started a courier service in 1992 calling it, Jim's Courier Service. He was very proud of this accomplishment and owned and operated it for 16 years.

Jim had a passion for music. He loved Big Band music but would listen to anything. He could play almost any instrument but his favorites were the saxophone and the
piano. He enjoyed giving lessons to the young.

Surviving Jim is his wife, Louise Hunt, daughter, Debbie Dukes, sons Steven and Michael Hunt, and grandchildren: Chandra and Ron Lopez, Trevor, and Taylor Dukes. A special thank you to Sandy Bowman and her family for their assistance with Jim over the last several years.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, William and Mabel Ellis.


Graveside services will be held at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery (10101 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise) on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 10:00 am. Interment is under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel Caldwell.
