George was one of three offspring of Clarence Asa & Winnie Romick Chandler.

Clarence was founder and president of "Chandler Landscape and Floral Co" in Kansas City; and was a prominent, influential business leader.
Having attended Kansas State University for one year in 1917, George graduated in 1922 with an Agricultural Engineering degree from University of Illinois; then serving as an integral member of the family business, along with his brother EDWIN; of whom assumed the extra duties of solely running the business(with Clarence age 80) after George's unexpected passing from heart failure in 1954.

George married into the Meriwether family(the "Jane and Lucy Lineages" of Capt Meriwether Lewis and Jamestown Colony fame);
namely Margaret Meriwether, with whom they had a daughter, Sandra.
Sadly, Margaret died young at age 42 of encephalitis.

Beloved and loving father of Sandra Chandler Stroot, his only child; who was deeply affected by his passing, just as she was starting her own family.

Ultimately, George and Margaret had four grandchildren and five great grandchildren thereafter.

His Siblings:

Edwin Chandler(1895-1989)

Marguerite Chandler Cayot(1900-1985)

...............CHANDLER ANCESTRY................
Wiltshire Chandler Lineage-7b: dating through "Sailor George & Jane Chandler", 1687 immigrants to Delaware/Pennsylvania; from Nicholas I&II(1503-40) in Wiltshire, Essex; and likely back to the 'le Chandeliers' in ancient West Saxony(vicinity of Stonehenge), circa 1252.
