Ms. Annie Mae Kennedy Gunter, - age 79 of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee passed away June 20, at The Palace Care & Rehab.

Annie was born on September 26, 1931, to the late Ernest Harvey and Artie Mae Brown Kennedy. She was one of seven children born to this union.

On Jan. 29, 1955 she was married to Walter Ray Gunter. They raised two daughters and shared fifty wonderful years together. Walter preceded her in death on June 13, 2005.

Besides her husband and parents, granddaughter, Lashelle Cook Powell, Great granddaughter, Cadence Powell, and two sisters, Ruby Scott, and Lib Gray, also preceded her in death.

She spent her life being a housewife, mother, and grandmother. Annie also enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens.

Annie was a busy body; enjoying yard sales or going with her daughter to work at Macon Helps. She liked talking to the customers and helping out when she could. Traveling with her children was a treat for her, but Annie wouldn't go unless the grandkids could go, too. She wouldn't go to Hawaii, because the grandkids weren't going. So they changed plans and went to Florida instead. Annie cherished her time with the grandkids. Her family was what she built her life around; and they will truly miss her.

Annie is survived by; Daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara (Danny) Evetts, and Valerie (Gene) Reid all of Lafayette, TN, Sisters, Jean Johnson of Lewisburg, TN, and Donnie Faught of Columbia, TN, Brothers, William Kennedy of Maryland, and Jerry Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Grandchildren, Kellie Cook(Andy) of El-Paso, TX, Eric Reid of Hendersonville, TN, Carl Reid of Lafayette, TN, Great-grandchild, Lucas Powell of Red Boiling Springs, TN, and Gus Martin of El-Paso, TX.

Funeral services for Annie Mae Kennedy Gunter were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Richard Patton officiating. Eric Reid, Carl Reid, Lucas Powell, Mike Gaddis, Danny Steely, and David Faught served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
