Mrs. Lamanda Shaffer, widow of the late Jacob Shaffer, died at the home of her son, Jacob F. Shaffer, York Street extended, this morning at 7:30 o'clock. Death was due to a complication of diseases. She was aged 86 years, two months and 17 days.
Her parents were the late John and Lucy Kessler. Surviving her are the following: One daughter, Mrs. Daniel L. Mummert, York Street; one son, Jacob F. Shaffer, with whom she resided; one sister, Mrs. S. K. Ehrhart, Abbottstown; four brothers, John Kessler, near Blooming Grove; Franklin Kessler, near Marburg; Oliver Kessler, Parkville, and Jacob Kessler, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock with services at the house and further services at St. Paul's (Dubs) Church. The Rev. A. M. Hollinger, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
