Joan J. Cash, 70, passed away, Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at St. Marys Healthcare Center in Pierre. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre, concluding with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church with interment following at Riverside Cemetery.

Joan Cash, loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother passed away Feb. 21 after a brave battle with cancer.

Joan was born July 19, 1940 in Pierre to John and Lea Rothenberger. She grew up on the family farm south of Harrold. She attended Hilltop Elementary School and graduated from Harrold High School.
Joan went to work for the Department of Revenue in 1960 and continued to work there until her retirement 35 years later.

During the years of her employment she met the love of her life, Kenneth Cash. Joan and Ken were united in marriage in 1980.

Joan enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her Grandkids. She also enjoyed gardening and visiting with friends and neighbors. Joan loved Christmas; it was a special time that she looked forward to being surrounded by her family.

Joan was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was a member of Rebekah Circle.

Grateful for the gift of sharing her life are her husband, Kenneth Cash; daughters Mona Smith (Larry) of Fort Pierre, Denise Harford (Jerry) of Pierre, Cynthia Rall (Lynn) of Forbes, N.D., and one son Kenneth Cash of Washougal, Wash.; her brother and sisters Doris Fuchs (Conrad) of Ohio, Dale Rothenberger (Marge) of Watertown and Donna Stulken (Doug) of Rapid City; her grandchildren Sarah, Taylor and Nicole Smith, Spencer, Kirsten and Parker Rall and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald Rothenberger.
