AGED MAN KILLED BY WABASH TRAIN
Hiram Bushong Wandered Away from Home and Met Death Near Montpelier Depot. Hiram Bushong, aged about 74, and well known in Montpelier, where he has resided a number of years, was struck by a Wabash passenger train at Montpelier Wednesday, and instantly killed. The accident occurred about a half mile west of the station. For the past couple of years, Mr. Bushong had been ailing, both in mind and body and at times it has been necessary to place him in care of an attendant. Sometime Wednesday forenoon he went out for a walk, as usual, and it is supposed that he wandered onto the railroad track and west until about half way between the bayou and main river bridges, where the fatal accident occurred. Mr. Bushong was an old resident of Williams county and formerly resided in Jefferson township four miles northeast of Montpelier.
