Marion Albrecht Norbury, 83, of Columbia died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, from complications of dementia.

Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park at a later date.

She was born July 20, 1933, in St. Louis to Theodore and Mildred Albrecht, who proceeded her in death.

On June 20, 1974, she was united in marriage to Lee Norbury, who preceded her in death in 1999.

She received a master’s degree in library science from the University of Missouri and worked for several years at the Daniel Boone Regional Library. She was instrumental in the foundation of the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation and was the executive director until her retirement.

She also was very active in many organizations in Columbia including the Quota Club, League of Women Voters, Business and Professional Women, Habitat for Humanity and the Golden K Kiwanis Club.

She enjoyed quilting and along with Lee helped organize several quilt shows.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Theodore Albrecht Jr.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, a niece and a nephew, all of the state of California. She also is survived by her husband’s children, Frederick of Columbia, David of Blackwater, Sue of Newton, Kan., and John of Boonville.
