Services for Bess M. Brust, 84, of 624 E. 13th St., will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Frain Mortuary. She died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday in Pulaski Health Care Center. Born June 8, 1908 in Peru, she was the daughter of Frank M. and Harriett Isabelle Clark Day. On April 27, 1929, in South Bend, she was married to Karl Dean Brust, who died Aug. 8, 1983. A lifelong resident of Winamac, Mrs. Brust was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chapter 96 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Harrison Township Extension Homemakers Club. A 1926 graduate of Winamac High School, she also graduated from South Bend Business College. Surviving are two daughters, Phillis I. King, Hotchkiss, Colo., and Carol M. Day, Winamac; one son Carl H., Winamac; two brothers, Bruce Day, Columbus, and Walter Day, Lakeland, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. One sister, four brothers, and one grandson preceded in death. The Rev. William Mathys will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and after 8 a.m. Sunday in the mortuary. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
