towards the Independence of his Country.
He reared a numerous and respectable family
and set them a striking example
of the life of a virtuous man & useful citizen.
He was a firm and practical believer
In the doctrines of Revealed Religion
and with unwavering Faith and
Christian Hope. Anno Domini 1816

Gravesite Details

Originally interred at his homestead "Manchester". His remains were removed to this cemetery in 1912 to make room for the City View Sanatorium. Acklen, Volume I, page 107, published 1933.
