-- ROCK HILL Mrs. Annie Ruth Adkins, 82, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Bruce Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Adkins was the daughter of the late Thomas Oscar Becknell and Blanche Wallace Becknell. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church and retired from Converse Distribution in Charlotte, N.C. She was a very active person who loved flowers and gatherings with family and friends. She was a loving mother, always caring and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her collection of angels and all her many pictures of her family. She was the widow of Banks Z. Adkins.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda Daniels of Florence, S.C., Renee Marus (Tom) of Rock Hill and Judy Boggs (Cherokee) of Burlington, N.C.; her brother, Ray Becknell (Jackie) of Rock Hill; two sisters, Gladys Blake of Rock Hill and Evelyn Blair of York, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Rick Daniels Jr. (Deborah), Brad Mitchell (Kristen), Kyndra Ring (Jason), Whitney Brazitis (Joe), Kylee George (Chris), Megan Daniels and Jenna Stainback; ten great-grandchildren; and her special niece for her love and support, Robin Conley.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, prior to the service at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Adkins's name to American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 634, York, SC 29745.
