My Mother
Down just beyond the station among the blest,
There seventeen years ago, my dear loved mother was laid to rest.
I cannot remember her altho I know she was kind hearted and sweet
For many times have I thus been told by all that knew her, all that I meet.
And when upon her death bed she lay, she sang "Is my name written there"
She told them the call had come, that she was going to a home bright & fair.
And oh, it makes my heart so lonely when I view the graves of those that were brave
and there beside the swaying cedar is my own precious mother's grave.
I am sure my darling mother was too
good and gracious to go
Thru the hardships of this wicked world
And that is why our savior called her we know.
Yes she left all the world behind
With the ones that loved her best
And is gone to a home of peace & love
