OBITUARY:
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday Oct 1, 2000, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Cemar Alleman, 87, who died Friday, Sept. 29, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

The Rev. Mr. Jim Kincel, deacon of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will conduct the services. Charlotte Jopling, accompanied on the organ by Phyllis Simar, will sing for the services, "J'irai la voir un jour," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Isaiah 49."

Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Burleigh and husband Curby and Maydell Guidry and husband Chester, all of Lafayette, and Ann Mire and husband Ron of Mire; one son, Francis Alleman Sr. and his wife Anna of Scott; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertie Alleman of Lafayette and Margaret Green of Carencro; two brothers, Dalton Alleman and Ernest Alleman, both of Scott; and one granddaughter whom he raised, Jane Seaux and husband Andrus of Mire.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelie Duhon Alleman; his parents; two daughters, Semae'Alleman and Yolande Bourque; one son, Joseph Alleman; two grandsons, Curley Bourque and Johnny Burleigh; three great-grandchildren, Larry Seaux, Angela Seaux and Jeremy Bourque; five brothers, Ganbel, Wilfred, Widless, Bernard and Lovic Alleman; and two sons-in-law, Freddie Venable and Patrick Royer.

A native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of Lafayette for 15 years, Mr. Alleman was the son of the late Gansule Alleman and the former Bernadette Trahan, both natives of Lafayette.

He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Community in Scott.

The family would like to thank Dr. Vernon Valentino, Dr. Maurice Sullivan and the entire staff of the fourth floor at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. A special thanks to the staff at Magnolia Place where Mr. Alleman had been a resident of the past five years.

A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and continue from 8 a.m. until time of services today.

Pallbearers are Francis Alleman Sr., Chester Guidry, Ron Mire, Curby Burleigh, Andrus Seaux and Francis Alleman Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Venable, Brent Royer, Brian Royer, Irby Burleigh, Michael Alleman and Dwight Seaux.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin and Castille Funeral Home.
