Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009, at 10:30 AM in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for Gertie Alleman, 81, who passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at her residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.
Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing "Notre Pere", "Amazing Grace", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" for the services.
Survivors include two sons, Elmo Alleman and his wife Cheryl and Earl Alleman and his wife Brenda; four grandchildren, Stephanie Alleman Miguez and her husband Gerald, Jennifer Alleman Walters and her husband John, Matthew Alleman and his wife Alison and Marcus Alleman and his wife Kim; and eleven great grandchildren, Lucas Alleman, Alec Alleman, April Alleman, Avery Alleman, Ashley Curtice, Meagan Richard, Hannah Richard, Madelyn Walters, Olivia Walters, Summer Miguez and Gunner Miguez.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elie Alleman; parents, Ganzule and Bernadette Trahan Alleman; one sister; and eight brothers.
A native of Scott and a resident of Lafayette, Gertie Alleman was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Elmo Alleman, Earl Alleman, Gerald Miguez, Matthew Alleman, Marcus Alleman and Alec Alleman.
Honorary Pallbearer will be John D. Walters.
A Rosary will be prayed Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
