Service set for pioneer

Casper - Services for a Casper area homesteader will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Art (Vina) Gaylord, 89, died Tuesday at the Wyoming State Sanitarium at Basin following a lengthy illness.

Services will be conducted at Bustard's Funeral Home.

A member of the Wyoming State and Natrona County Pioneer Association Circle No. 407 of Woodcraft, Mrs. Gaylord was born Sept. 9, 1886 at Sheridan.

The family moved to Casper in 1892. She had her schooling in Casper and homesteaded five miles east of the city in 1915.

She married Art Gaylord on March 8, 1925 at Douglas and she and her husband ran a poultry business in Casper for nearly 40 years. The family home was at 912 East 14th.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A.J. (Gertrude) Peterson of Casper and Mrs. C.N. (Teddy Mae) Stewart of Santa Marie, Calif.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died July 11, 1973.

Flowers or memorials to the Blue Envelope Fund will be appreciated by the family.

Note: Vina was a victim of tuberculosis.
