Mrs. R.E.L. Cooney
Mrs. R.E.L. Cooney, of this city, died in Atlanta yesterday (May 12, 1903), and the news will be a severe shock to her many friends here. Mrs. Cooney was formerly Miss Anna Van Horn, a daughter of J.B. (sic) Van Horn (She is the daughter of Thaddeus Damascus Van Horn and Margareta Law-LVH). Besides her husband, she leaves two children, one a girl of 10 and the other a boy of 4 years. Mr. Cooney is the Superintendent of Agencies of the New York Life Insurance Company and is located in Atlanta. Both he and his estimable and lamented wife were popular Orleanians.
She was loved by family and friends for the beauty of her character and the happiness of her disposition. The interment was in Atlanta.
