CAIRO – Marie Evelyn Isbell Barnes, 83, of Cairo, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at her home. She loved and worked hard for her church, Southwest Baptist Church. She was previously a hospital cook. She loved flowers, riding on pontoon boats and spending time with her family.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Southwest Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forked Oak Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glenn is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana Johnson and husband, Bro. Bobby R. Johnson of Cairo; one brother, Clovis Isbell and wife, Geraldine of Cairo; two grandchildren, Marcus Johnson and wife, Ashley and Candace Barker and husband, Rob; and three great-grandchildren, Levi Johnson, Lexi Johnson and Rachel Barker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Isbell; a son, James Barnes; a granddaughter, Emily Johnson; a brother, Clyde Isbell and wife, Hazel; a sister, Weber Stutts and husband, Joe; and the father of her children, J.C. Barnes.
Pallbearers include Jacky Bullock, Jerad Sims, Darrell Vess, Ronnie Timbes, Mike Timbes and Tommy McAnally. Honorary pallbearers will be the Cairo kids.
Visitation will begin at noon today at Southwest Baptist Church and will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Monday.
