Novelist and Activist. Born in Grimaud, France. Best known for "The Bernardini Terrace". Published in 1973, it won the Prix Renaudot, one of several French literary awards her work received. Suzanne embraced a variety of causes throughout her life. It has been stated that during the second World War she took a stand against anti-Semitism by helping produce an underground newspaper. She was an ardent feminist and human rights activist. She died in Paris at the age of 75, no cause of death was stated.
