Edward Thomas Boylen was born in Ridgeway, WI., September 28, 1861 and passed away at his home in Eastman, WI. on June 6, 1918. He was the son of Matthew and Mary (Harding) Boylen.
He was married to Catherine Riley on January 6, 1980. To this union eight children were born: Albert J. now in Camp Wadsworth, S. C., Mabel (Nick) Meyer on Arena, Mary Ellen (Joseph) Steiner of Wauzeka, Irene (Edward) Elliott of Woodman and Edward, Loretta, Vila and Lawrence at home.
Edward spent all of his life in Iowa County until March 1914 when the family moved to a big farm near Eastman, WI.
He leaves to mourn, besides his family, two brothers, Francis Boylen of Mt. Horeb and Luke Boylen of Ridgeway and three sisters, Mary Ann (Reese) Lewis of Dodgeville, Ellen (George) Pieh of Mt. Horeb, and Mrs. T. Lynch of Ridgeway and eight grandchildren.
Services were held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wauzeka with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
