Margaret C. Amato, 76, Tyrone, formerly of Bellwood, died Wednesday morning at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph and Ella (Smithmyer) McSorley. She married Ralph C. "Pete" Amato on June 16, 1956, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Ralph J. and wife, Dana; and a daughter, Tammy M., two grandchildren: Dominic and Christian Amato. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Joan, Jane, Mary Elizabeth and Agnes.

Margaret was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellwood.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellwood, the Rev. David H. Roesch as celebrant. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that remembrances be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellwood.
