Garland Greenlee, was born on November 6, 1934 to Jasper Ross and Texie Elizabeth Yates Greenlee in Breckenridge. He passed away at his home in Fort Worth on July 12th at the age of 76.
Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Jim Cox will be held at the Elliott Street Church of Christ in Breckenridge on Saturday, July 16th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers his children request that you make donations to the Wayland Cemetery or the Elliott Street Church of Christ.
Garland was born and raised in Breckenridge, Texas and was a proud member of the Buckaroo Class of 1953 and played on the State Championship Football Team in 1952 and 1953. After retiring from the automobile business he was employed by the Breckenridge ISD as a bus driver and after moving to Fort Worth to be close to his children he was employed by the Aledo ISD and the children lovingly called him Mr. G.
He married Maurene Nunley on May 6, 1956 after they met in a drug store in Abilene. They were married over 25 years and remained close friends until her death in 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Treva June Greenlee Prather.
Garland had a heart as big as Texas and would give you the shirt off of his back. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and wrote in a class reunion paper that he had the best parents in the world.
Survivors: son Scott Greenlee and wife Kay of Fort Worth; daughters Karen Doherty and husband Tom of Crowley; Patrice Parks of Burleson. Grandchildren; Steven Ross Doherty, Michelle Alexandra Magallon, Alison Nicole Cutshall, Cameron Scott Cutshall, Matthew and Nicolas Barton and Mikey Greenlee. Great-grandchildren; Cayden and Kayleigh Magallon and Aiden Barton. Nephew; Andy Andress of Houston and Niece; Kellie Andress Alegre of Lodi, California
