MAN HIT BY CAR DIES: John Lloyd Hifner, 70, Was Injured November 10: John Lloyd Hifner, 70, who suffered fractures of both legs and his right arm when he was struck by a car November 10 on Noland Road near Little Blue Road, died yesterday at the Jackson County Hospital.
An autopsy will be performed this morning at the Ott & Mitchell Funeral home, Independence. John Weinberg, a sheriff's patrol investigator, said the death will not be listed as a traffic fatality until the results of the autopsy are learned and a further investigation is made.
Mr. Hifner was born at Atherton. He was a son of J. C. B. Hifner and Cordelia Ann Hifner, early Atherton residents. He was a member of the Atherton Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Roy O. Pryor, 1112 West Truman Road, Independence, and Mrs. Lola Hartnett, 417 North Willis Street, Independence, and two brothers, Russell A. Hifner, Wadsworth, Kas., and Garland H. Hifner, an employee of the Jackson County Home for the Aged.
Services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday at the Ott & Mitchell Chapel. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

GIVE A DEATH CAUSE: Coroner's Report Says Traffic Victim Died Of Pneumonia: An autopsy performed yesterday by the Jackson County coroner's office revealed that John Lloyd Hifner, 70, Atherton, died from lobar pneumonia. John Weinberg, Ingestigator for the sheriff's patrol, said the death would not be listed as a traffic fatality.
Hifner was struck by a motor car November 10 on Noland Road near the Little Blue road, and suffered fractures of both legs and his right arm. He had been in the Jackson County Hospital since the accident.
