Al was educated at Wilson Jr, High, afterwards he attended welding school. He retired on June 17 1988, from Western States, where he had been employed as a welder for 15 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 36, of Hamilton.

On September 3, 1949 he was united in marriage to Virginia L Ruble, in St. Mary's Rectory.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, two daughters Helen Bekemeier of Hamilton Mary Kathryn Barrett also of Hamilton, three sons, Michael Eugene of San Diego California, Gene Edward, and John Joseph of Hamilton. Nine grandchildren two great-grandsons, two sisters Mrs Mary Jane Riddell of New Miami, and Mrs Dorothy Napier, of Cincinnati, five brothers Richard of Wapakanneta,Ohio, Charles of Hamilton, Bryon Neil of Oxford, Cecil of Canton,Michigan and William of Worthington Minnesota, a son-in-law Benny Felty, nine brothers five sisters and his parents preceded him in death.
