One of 97 photos from an album of Wesleyan University students in Middletown, CT 1866-1871.
Some names were written underneath the photo in the album - in those cases I have copied the info to the back of the photo in pencil.
Many of these men put their education on hold to serve their country in the Civil War, and their service is shown in the Alumni Record and also in my listing.

Writing on front "Hendrix '67".
Photographer is Kellogg, Hartford, CT.

EUGENE RUSSELL HENDRIX. Born, May 17, 1847, in Fayette, Howard Co., Mo.
Driven from Missouri by the war. 1867-8, Studied in Union Theological Seminary, New York, N. Y. ; supplied for a short time the pulpit of Pacific St. Methodist Episcopal Church, Brooklyn. 1869, Joined Missouri Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church, South. 1869, Stationed at Leavenworth, Kans. ; 1870, I, Macon, Mo.; 1872-4, Francis St., Saint Joseph, Mo.
1876-7, Made a tour around the world, with Bishop E. M. Marvin, in the interest of Missions. 1877-8, Associate Editor of Saint Louis Christian Advocate. 1877, Stationed at Glasgow, Mo. 1878-81, President of Central College, Fayette, Mo. 1878, D.D., Emory College. 1881, Delegate to Methodist Ecumenical Conference.
Married, June 20, 1872, Annie E. Scorritt of Kansas City, Mo.
Children: Kvangeline Isabel, b. May 13, 1873 : Mary Matilda, b. Aug. 15, 1875: Nathan Scorritt. b. Aug. 23, 1878.
1881, Address : Fayette, Howard Co., Mo.
