Henry R. Barnes, 78, of Knightstown died Thursday at Henry County Memorial Hospital.

He lived in Knightstown most of his life. He was an auto worker and was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church in New Castle. He was also a member of U.A.W. 663, the Golden Rule Lodge No. 16 F&AM, S.A.L. and the National Rifle Association.

He was born Nov. 2, 1924 in Wayne County, Kentucky.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica Driscall Wright Barnes, whom he married on September 24, 1987; three daughters, Sharon (husband: Warren) Smith of Greenfield, Juanda (husband: Phil) Rose of Greenfield and Carol (husband: Bill) Charles of Spiceland; a brother, Phillip (wife: Patty) Barnes of New Castle; six grandchildren, Art Rose of Greenwood, Amy Ellis of Greenfield, Rob Hall of Greenfield, Teresa Kelnhofer of Tolono, ILL., Sam Charles of Spiceland and Cindy Brooks of Spiceland.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with J. Allen Southerland officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery. Masonic services will be 8 p.m. Sunday, Viewing will by 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
